Speculations got rife, when news came out that Microsoft showed their interest on Yahoo 2 weeks back.Then talks were that google showed their interest to offer help to Yahoo.In fact Eric Schmidt had called upon jerry yang to help in taking discussion in this crisis.

Then, the next stage, were talks in the industry was, Yahoo would possibly outsource their serach market to Google.Then the official news came out that Yahoo declined Microsoft’s offer, that the deal undervaluing Yahoo.

Now the story moves to a different direction that Yahoo most likely merge with AOL.Again AOL search is enhanced by Google.Obvious is, merge between these 3 web tycoons is likely impossible.As federal Trade and European commission would probably reject.So Y! must look in for alternatives to expand its dominance as a standalone entity.

Look at the Stats of Search engine Market share

I strongly believe Y! would instead merge with multiple small competitors and enhance its
core areas of display advertising and search and continue to possess its threat to Microsoft
and Google.

Possible future merge could happen with Ask.com, baidu,……..lets see
